THE AMAZING HISTORY OF PORT LOGAN FISHPOND
Work began on the Fishpond in 1788 it took 12 years for the pond to be created. The Fishpond was constructed by expanding a natural blow hole in the rocks. Fish were caught at sea and stored in the pond for the Laird of Logan.
Visitors to Port Logan Fishpond are amazed and enchanted when they first glimpse what lies beyond the cottage door.
The Fishpond is now a unique setting in which to see a wide variety of local sea life. The water in the pond is naturally changed by the tide. Adjacent to the Fishpond is the gatehouse, cottage and bathing hut.
